Dawn Delight

(An early sunrise walk inspired a few words 😉 )

Dawn sky delight
Here hither breaks the night
Tender buds conquering bark confinements
Decorate rambled branches against mornings first light
Cries of spring accompany Mother Earth
As Doves race from their safe pine perch
I’ve walked too close
The needles of dense evergreen now a questionable hideaway
The frantic flapping of wings replace their coo’s
As a squirrel soars from a nearby branch
Nimble and certain, he lands on the adjacent tree
And a dove calls out from its new found perch
I must make my way home
Coffee and kids await
